The Department of Education prepares an individual School Status & Improvement Report (SSIR) for all regular public schools in the state of Hawaii as required by !l302A-1004, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Each SSIR has a description of the school and its setting, a summary of school improvement progress, available resources, and vital signs on school performance.

The 2004-05 SSIRs have been updated as of Feb. 1, 2006.

School Setting information describes the student population and the school community.

Standards Implementation summarizes progress made in accomplishing standards implementation goals.

School Resources includes teacher credential and staffing levels as well as the quality and adequacy of school facilities.

Vital Signs has information on the school quality survey (SQS), student conduct, test results, dropouts, and graduation/retention rates.

Related Reports

This report complements The Superintendent's Annual Report, which analyzes our schools collectively and in comparison to those of other states. Together, individual school reports and the summary Superintendent's Report describe our schools to help us judge them against our State and national standards for school and school system performance.

Other school-level reports are the School Quality Survey,the Senior Exit Plans Survey, No Child Left Behind, the Trend Report, and Hawaii School Readiness Assessment Report.
